The farm Ventolaio, Situated on the route that leads from Montalcino to Sant’Antimo Abbey is a family farm completely managed together Luigi and Maria Assunta with their sons Baldassarre and Manuele.
All the 14 hectars of vineyards are situated around the property in one of the most suggestive and panoramic part of Montalcino, “Poggio d’arna” have an exposure to south/south-east and an elevation of about 400 mt a.s.l.,
The plants are pruned cordon, with an average age of about 25 years old, the terrain is essentially a mixture composed by clay and a lot of stones and gravel inside itself.
Ventolaio, in conversion as organic farm, produces about 40000 bottles of Brunello di Montalcino, 18000 of Rosso di Montalcino and 10000 of Igt.
The ageing of wines takes place in Slavonia’ and French’s oak barrels by 30 Hl, in line with Montalcino’s tradition.
